Oak, plastic, and steel — the same edge problem solved three ways. Each board started as a board I wanted to train on and couldn’t buy.

DIY Oak Hangboard

Built by hand for training at home. Four rows of edges, pockets, and slopers routed into a single slab of oak, with a mountain ridgeline woodburned across the face and a knot left exposed rather than cut around.

In Production

Wave Hangboard

A 16mm edge small enough to live in a jacket pocket. The wave texture across the back gives the fingertips something to sit against, so the board stays comfortable through a full warm-up instead of biting after two hangs.

Bent Steel Hangboard

Designed to be bent, not machined — a single piece of 1/8 inch steel folded into a rolled grip edge, with the cutouts doing the work of removing weight. The plan is to sandblast the whole thing, trading the slick mill finish for a texture you can actually hold onto.

Design is complete. Fabrication is up next.
