Concepts
and one-offs

Problems I noticed in a dorm room, a classroom, a closet, and a shop — each one taken far enough through CAD to prove the mechanism works.

Innovative Hanger

A clothes hanger whose arms fold in at the press of a button. Hold the button and the arms swing inward, dropping the garment off the hanger without dragging it over the collar. Rehanging works the same way in reverse: hold the button, slide both arms into the shoulders, let go, and the arms spring back out to full width.

Magnetic Bathroom Pass

A cleaner take on the hall pass, designed for my old high school. Each pass hangs magnetically on a wall-mounted board instead of circulating desk to desk, so a student takes one and returns it without every other pass being handled along the way.

Passes are labeled by classroom and zone, which makes a missing one obvious at a glance from across the room.

Concept

MagSafe Key Holder

A dorm key that rides on the back of your phone. The holder snaps to the MagSafe ring, so the one thing you never leave behind carries the one thing you always do — no lanyard, no keychain, nothing extra in a pocket.

Sheet Metal

Cut-o-matic Bracket

A bent sheet-metal bracket that retrofits onto a Stihl brush cutter to carry the components of a pump system. Designed as a single folded part — every feature comes from a bend or a cut, so it can be produced flat and formed without any machining or welding.
